Show your bravery at the 20th anniversary of this "unbearable" event Saturday, February 28! Support local Special Olympics athletes by walking, running or crawling into the frigid winter waters at Lake of the Ozarks. All proceeds from the event will benefit Special Olympics Missouri's year-round program of sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.2015 Polar Plunge
This year's event to support Special Olympics Missouri will be held at Lake of the Ozarks State Park Public Beach #2 in Osage Beach. The plunge will happen at 2:00 pm. Participants must be 10 years old and raise a minimum of $75 by the day of the event. To register for or donate to the event, please visit: www.somo.kintera.org.
2015 Polar Bear Strut
If you don't want to plunge into freezing cold waters, why not go for a run instead! You can show your support for Special Olympics Missouri by walking or running through the frigid winter streets. The strut will begin at 8 AM on February 28, at the Osage Beach City Hall. Participants must raise $50 by the day of the event. Pee Wee Polar Plunge
To help celebrate the 20th anniversary of the event, this year there will be a 1st annual Pee Wee Plunge! The event will be open to any child through 9 years of age and will be held Friday, February 27, the day before the big plunge, at the Indoor Pool at Tan-Tar-A Resort. There is a $25 registration fee and each "Pee Wee" will receive an official event t-shirt and a $5 off coupon for the Timber Falls Waterpark at Tan-Tar-A.
