Saturday – August 7, 2021

Lake Ozark Campground & RV Park (below Bagnell Dam)

Fun Zone Open at 10:00 AM

Ducks Fly @ Noon!

Bring the kids (ALL AGES) down to the Lake Ozark Campground & RV Park below the dam for a family fun zone with games, dunking booth, bounce houses, food, and lots of prizes and goodies! Then stick around to watch the ducks fly at noon. Ducks will be dropped from the helicopter, as well as pontoon boats in the river and they will "race" to the finish line. The first duck to cross the finish line wins $5,000 and 10 additional ducks will prizes, as well! It's a morning of fun and excitement for family members of all ages!

The Lake of the Ozarks Shootout, held at Captain Ron's Bar & Grill and the 33MM-34.5MM, will bring top powerboat racers and off shore racing power boats from across the country, topping 200 MPH. The largest unsanctioned boat race in the Midwest with over 100 racers and 100,000 spectators. Proceeds will benefit the Lake Area Rescue Teams, and other charitable organizations!

Tips for Safe Firework Viewing from the Water

The 4th of July weekend is officially here and at Lake of the Ozarks, that means boating and fireworks! Our boat lift company at the Lake of the Ozarks knows how exciting holiday weekends are for our fellow boaters. It means you get to enjoy all day out on the water doing what you love and then catching some spectacular fireworks displays around the area at night. There's nothing quite like viewing fireworks from the water. Check out a few of the awesome places you can catch these fantastic displays around the Lake of the Ozarks this holiday weekend and some quick safety tips to keep top of mind:

Firework Viewing Safety Tips:

Be aware of other boaters when navigating to and from crowded fireworks displays
Pack jackets or blankets on the boat to help keep the evening chill away
Bring snacks and drinks for your entire boatload -- you don't want anyone getting hungry or thirsty out on the water. It's important to stay hydrated, especially after a long day on the water.
Keep a safe distance from the firework barges. Debris and other particles can fall from the sky when fireworks explode -- try to keep a safe distance away from the fireworks themselves.
Designate a captain. It's a holiday weekend and we know it's fun to get out on the water and have a good time but it's vital that you have a designated captain on board to safely navigate your boat back to the dock.

What Items to Bring on Your Next Boat Outing

If you're planning to head out on the boat, you're in for a fun-filled day! Whether you're cruising up and down the lake, coving out, or taking the kids tubing, get ready to make some amazing summer memories! As the best boat lift company at the Lake of the Ozarks, we know all about boating and the awesome fun that can be had on the water. To help you better prepare for your boating outing, take a look at the checklist of things you should bring on the boat with you!

Beach Towels

Having plenty of towels on the boat is very handy. Whether there's a spill or your entire family is dripping wet from being in the water, towels will come in clutch for your boating day!

Life Jackets

Every person on board should have a life jacket that fits. If you don't have enough on your boat, be sure to bring extras with you on your next day on the lake. Also, store life jackets in an easy to access location that way they can be grabbed in a hurry if needed. Remember, it's required by law for kids to wear life jackets while on board, as well.

Sunscreen

Protect your skin while you're out on the water. Even if the sun isn't shining bright, you can still get a sunburn. Help better protect yourself and everyone on board by providing sunscreen. And don't forget to reapply every few hours!

Dry Bag

It's important to store your valuable items in a dry bag on board. Keep your phone protected from splashes around the boat when it's safely stored in a dry bag. Water Toys

Whether you're planning to participate in watersports or you're just coving out, it's important you have the right gear for an enjoyable day on the water. Floaties and noodles are some great items to bring if you're planning to cove out and hang out in the water. If you're planning to ski, wakeboard, or tube, don't forget to the necessary ropes!

Snacks & Water

It's important to stay hydrated and to have plenty to eat, especially on a hot day. Getting dehydrated from not drinking enough water is a common issue when spending the day on the boat. If you're enjoying other refreshments, make sure you are drinking enough water, too.

Dry Clothes

Sitting in a wet swimsuit or clothing can be uncomfortable. If you're planning to spend a lot of time out of the water, consider packing a change of clothes so you can be more comfortable hanging out on the boat or at a water restaurant during your boating day. If your boating day turns into night, consider packing a light jacket, as well.

Bumpers & Tie Lines

If you're planning to dock up or hook up to a line of other boats during your outing, you'll want to make sure you have bumpers and tie-up lines. This protects your boat and others from damage by providing a rubber buffer between the two. Tie-ups make it easy to keep your boat tied up and secure in place.
