Perks of Adding a Lift Walkway

Boat lifts are an important part of keeping your boat safe. While it's an effective way to lift your boat out of the water, there are some impressive boat lift variations we have available to make your boating experience even better. Our boat lift company at the Lake of the Ozarks is able to work with your unique dock, boat, and lift situation to design a lift that is best for your unique needs. One of the popular options our customers choose is to offset a boat lift and install a boat lift walkway at the Lake of the Ozarks. Check out some of the benefits of adding a walkway to your boat lift below:

Increase Safety on Dock

Your dock is a hot spot for family and friends each summer. We want to ensure it's as safe as possible and that can be accomplished by installing a walkway around your boat. This means there is less space for a person to fall in the water in the dock well between the edge of the dock and the boat. This is a dangerous place to fall with all the lift arms and other metal beneath the water surface. Preventing a fall specifically next to a boat lift can help keep your crew safe.

Make it Easy to Board Your Boat

It can be difficult for some individuals to board a boat. Children and elderly boaters tend to have trouble getting on and off the boat. A boat lift walkway at the Lake of the Ozarks is a great way to offer peace of mind and an extra place to step to get the individuals closer to the boat. Instead of stretching your legs over the gap between the dock and the boat, a walkway offers a place to take a step closer and get right next to the boat to board. It can also help eliminate the fear factor of falling in next to the boat while boarding.

Conveniently Clean Boat

It can be tricky to clean your boat while it's stored on your lift. While some spots on the boat are easy to clean, it can be difficult to reach other places on the boat. Easily clean your entire boat exterior with a lift walkway. You can get up right next to the boat to wipe it down after a day on the water or to give it a good cleaning before winterizing this fall.

Our Lake of the Ozarks boat lift company takes great pride in providing the best end product for our customers. Tips for a Safer Boarding Experience

Boating season is in full swing and you're likely climbing on and off your boat on a regular basis. Our boat lift company at the Lake of the Ozarks knows that it can present a few dangers to you and your crew. Our latest blog is all about making your boarding experience a little safer! Summerset Boat Lifts has included some tips to make your experience safer for all.

Kiddos don't always slow down or realize the gap between a boat and the dock is water (and dangerous water with lift arms and lift tubs, at that). Some elderly boaters have a hard time swinging their leg up over the edge of a boat or aren't confident as they step down onto a dock from a boat. Help ease those worries and help make your dock a safer place to get on and off your boat with the safety tips below!

Encourage the use of handles.

When others are getting on or getting off your boat, try to ensure to use of handles. If you don't have handles readily available, consider adding handles to your boat or dock support near the location you typically board.

Consider a boat with easy access.

If you are really worried about others around your dock, think about the ease of getting on and off your boat when purchasing your next vessel. Some boats have a swim platform that makes getting on & off the boat easier since it is closer to the same height as the dock. You may also consider a boat that has a gate that swings open or closed for a walkway instead of having to step down onto a seat.

Get a helping hand.

Try to support your guests as they get on and off your boat. A helping hand for stability can really help your friends and family feel more comfortable as they step up or down from the boat or dock.

Ask for assistance with heavy or awkward objects.

Loading a heavy object on a boat can be quite a task. Ask for assistance with any large or heavy object, like a full cooler. This can help reduce your chance of missing a step or losing your balance while trying to load the boat for a day of fun on the water.

Install a boat lift walkway.

A lift walkway can make it much easier to board and disbark from your boat! It's especially helpful if your lift is wider than your boat. It makes it a breeze to get on and off your boat AND is really handy for cleaning the exterior or putting a cover on your boat.

Install a PWC platform.

We have a composite PWC platform lift available that completely covers the open spaces around your PWC. Get one installed today to make your experience a safer (and less worrisome) one!

Now that you've likely gotten a chance to look over our safety tips, you may be ready to have a walkway or platform installed with your lift. Contact the best boat lift company at the Lake of the Ozarks today!
