Join Us for Supercat Fest 2018

One of our favorite annual events at the Lake of the Ozarks is back August 23-25, 2018! Supercat Fest is an annual celebration of the world's finest high-performance catamarans and more. The event is held at the Horny Toad Complex at Camden on the Lake, and coincides with the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout.

Supercat Fest Details

Headquartered at Camden on the Lake Resort Docks in Lake Ozark, Supercat Fest presents the greatest collection of exotic go-fast catamarans - and even a few v-bottom sport boats and high-performance center consoles - in the world! The owners bring the boats, so it's not a formal boat show, but that makes it that much more enjoyable for performance boat enthusiasts. It's just one big party for those looking to enjoy fast boats, live music and more. This year's Supercat Fest will feature some of your favorite events from year's past including the Friday night Bikini Contest and the Saturday night Lake of the Ozarks Shootout Auction. Watch the Shootout races on Saturday from the big screen at the pool!

The Dave Baker Band

This year's Supercat Fest will feature music from the Dave Baker Band! They will take the stage at 8 pm on both Friday and Saturday night. The Dave Baker Band brings you all your favorite tunes from the 70's to current hits in one show. If Journey and the Zac Brown Band threw a party and invited Lady Gaga, AC/DC and Elton John - this would be the soundtrack. After many years of being the voice and front man for Mid-Missouri's most popular bands The Cherry Pistols and Five Turn Knot, lead singer Dave Baker has joined together some of the best local talent to bring you The Dave Baker Band. This is one show that will not disappoint!

With fast boats and great music, why wouldn't you want to join us for Supercat Fest 2018? This is one of Summerset Boat Lifts' favorite annual events! The best part is being able to host one of these awesome catamarans on our super-cool dock featuring a helicopter pad.

We hope you have a great time out on the water during all the upcoming boating events at the Lake - and remember, if you're in need of boat lift services at the Lake of the Ozarks, we're your guys!

Guide to Purchasing the Perfect Boat

Boating season is just around the corner. Whether you're thinking about buying a boat for the first time or you're looking to make an upgrade or change, this guide from the best Lake of the Ozarks boat lift company will help you through the boat buying process.

1. Determine the Type of Boat You Want to Buy.

With thousands of different boats to choose from, where do you start? Think about what you're planning to use the boat for. Do you want to take it fishing? Do you want to pull your children around on an inflatable tube? Do you want to enter it in racing competitions? The way in which you plan to use your boat will help you determine what type of boat you should buy. Then you can go from there to narrow it down to the style, model, etc.

2. Choose Between a New or Used Boat.

Just like with a vehicle, a boat is a big investment. Not only do you need to think about purchase price, but also insurance and maintenance costs. While a brand new boat may have a hefty price tag, you may not have to put quite as much into maintenance costs as you would on a used boat. If you do choose to buy used, don't just look at the price tag. Be sure to have the boat inspected and determine any initial repair and maintenance costs. Also take into consideration that new boats will come with a warranty, while used boats likely will not.

3. Attend a Boat Show.

If you are new to boat buying or just aren't sure where to start, a boat show can be a great experience for you. Here you are able to check out a variety of different boats all in one place. You can talk to the dealers, ask any questions you want and compare different models easily. While the internet is great for preliminary research, seeing the boats in person can give you a better idea of what you want and don't want.

4. Narrow Down Your Options.

Think about all the boats you've looked at; hopefully, you've started a list of boats that interest you. Now it's time to start another list, of what you want in a boat. Are there certain features you can't live without? How many people does your boat need to hold at one time? Split your list into needs and wants; this will help you check off boats from that first list that don't meet your criteria.

5. Take a Test Drive.

Once you've narrowed down your list, it's time to take some test drives. You know how you love the way a car looks, then you hop in the drivers seat and just don't like the way it drives? The same thing can happen with a boat. If possible, you'll want to test drive your boat before you actually buy it. The way a boat handles and the way it feels on the water are very important considerations.

6. Find the Right Dealer.

Once you've settled on what boat you'd like to purchase, make sure you get it from the right dealer. Be sure to find someone who's reputable in the community. Ask around for the best places to buy a boat, and read online reviews, not just about the boats, but about the dealers. Shop around for not only the best deal, but the best people you can find to work with, someone you can trust with such a big purchase.

Once you've found the perfect boat, you're going to need a boat lift to go with it! Trust none other than Summerset Boat Lifts for the best selections on the market. We are your premier boat lift dealer at the Lake of the Ozarks! Give us a call at 573-348-5073 to find a lift to match your needs.
