Mark Your Calendars for the St. Charles Boat Show

The Lake of the Ozarks Marine Dealers Association is excited about the upcoming Annual St. Charles Boat Show! This is the premiere show for boating enthusiasts across the Midwest and certainly in the St. Louis market. This year's event will be held March 8-11 at the St. Charles Convention Center, and Summerset Boat Lifts is excited to be a part of the fun again this season.

About the 2018 St. Charles Boat Show 

Join all of your favorite marine dealers from the Lake of the Ozarks for this family-fun event. The 2018 Overland Park Boat Show

Boat show season is finally here, and it kicks off with the very popular Overland Park Boat Show! Head over to the Overland Park Convention Center January 4-7, 2018 for this family-fun event. The Lake of the Ozarks Marine Dealers Association presents the 2017 September In-Water Boat Show this weekend, September 22-24! The annual event will take place at Captain Ron's on the 34.5 mile marker of the main channel of the Lake of the Ozarks. Summerset Boat Lifts, along with other association members, will have boats, lifts, accessories and more to offer you at great season closeout prices. Tickets are $6 each for adults, with children 12 and under free! Proceeds from this event will go to support Kids Harbor Child Advocacy Center.

How to Make the Most Out of Boat Shows

Boat shows present a great opportunity to get special deals, rebates and incentives on boats, boat lifts, accessories, trailers, clothing, electronics and more great stuff for your boat. However, sometimes they can be confusing, overwhelming and intimidating. To get the most out of a boat show, you need to go in prepared. Here are some tips for making the most out of your boat show experience:

1. Calculate a Budget. 

In the heat of the moment its easy to choose the fanciest boat you see.  The smart thing to do is to create a budget before you even enter the show room.  If you find a boat that doesn't fit within what you can afford, you know you need to move on to the next option.  There will be tons of boats, boat lifts, accessories and more to choose from, each with different price ranges to fit your budget. 2. Don't Make One of These Boat Buying Mistakes.

• The kids needed a head, but the boat didn't have one. 
• The boat didn't have a big enough motor and was too bulky for skiing. 
• The boat wasn't large enough for a large family. 
• The bed was too short leaving the feet hanging over the end. 
• There wasn't enough room for the knees when sitting on the head. 

3. Ask Intellegent Questions.

If you've done your research ahead of time, you know what questions you need to ask to find the perfect boat.  Think about what you will primarily be using the boat for, such as waterskiing, fishing, or long trips, who will be using the boat and any other needs you may have when it comes to boating. Having these things in mind will help you narrow down your boat selection and you'll have more time to ask the right questions about each of your prospective boat options.

4. Compare All the Options.
