Boat Show Attendance Tips for This Weekend

One of the most anticipated boat shows of the season is THIS WEEKEND! Make plans to visit the St. Charles Boat Show on March 3-6 at the St. Charles Convention Center. The latest and greatest in the boating industry is waiting -- make plans to go check it out! If you're planning to attend, check out a few tips from the best boat lift company at the Lake of the Ozarks!

Plan to Spend Most of the Day

There are a ton of vendors at this year's show! With so much to see, allow plenty of time to walk around the show and stop to chat with a variety of vendors. Make sure you have the chance to not only look at everything you want to but also to process it. By taking time to process what you've seen, you'll end up remembering something you want to take a second look at. We also recommend taking notes about the different products you're considering. This comes in handy when you are narrowing down your boat or boating accessory selections! At a minimum, plan on spending a whole day, if not the entire weekend checking out the awesome selection!

Set a Budget

Whether you've been dreaming about a new boat or you're after dock or boating accessories to complete your boating lifestyle, there are a ton of amazing products on the market to meet your needs. Having a budget in mind can help you reel in your expectations. Do a little research and know roughly how much you're going to be spending before attending a boat show. The great news about a boat show is there are many boat show specials offered throughout the show so you can snag those amazing products with a discount!

Visit with Multiple Vendors

There are a ton of vendors at every boat show. It's important to stop and talk with the vendors of the products you're considering purchasing. It can be helpful to visit the brands you are considering to ensure you know exactly what you are getting for your money. You can also get a feel if that business is the right fit for your boating needs when visiting with the various vendors at the show.

Must-Know Tips for Attending a Boat Show

Summerset Boat Lifts is excited as we approach the first boat show of the 2021 season! As the best boat lifts at the Lake of the Ozarks, we pride ourselves on showcasing our boat lifts and other boating accessories at these shows. We know it can be overwhelming to walk into such a grand hall to look at boats, docks, lifts, and other boating must-haves. That's why we're here to showcase some of the tips for attending one of the upcoming boat shows:

Have a Budget in Mind

Whether you've been dreaming about a new boat or you're after dock or boating accessories to complete your boating lifestyle, there are a ton of amazing products on the market to meet your needs. Having a budget in mind can help you reel in your expectations. Do a little research and know roughly how much you're going to be spending before attending a boat show. The great news about a boat show is there are many boat show specials offered throughout the show so you can snag those amazing products with a discount!

Think About Your Boating Needs

Boat shows are packed with various vendors, and not just those selling boats. In order to wade through the chaos, it's important to have an idea of what you are looking for as an addition to your lake lifestyle. Whether it's dock accessories, boating gear, or a new boat lift -- there are many options for boating accessories available at the show. Having an idea of what you're after can help direct you as to which booths you want to stop at and visit further with.

Spend Time Talking with Vendors

There are a ton of vendors at every boat show. It's important to stop and talk with the vendors of the products you're considering to purchase. Some dealers can be very committed to customer service, while others are large enough to offer nice discounts. Some will offer continued service, while others may not. It can be helpful to visit with the brands you are considering to ensure you know exactly what you are getting for your money.

Plan to Spend Most of the Day

With so much to see, you're going to need to leave yourself plenty of time to not only look at everything you want to, but also to process it. By taking time to process what you've seen, you'll end up remembering something you want to take a second look at. In addition to taking notes, try to take some pictures. These will be helpful when you are narrowing down your boat or boating accessory selections!

Tips for Attending a Boat Show

Boat shows are fun events the entire family can enjoy. The winter boat shows get us all excited about the upcoming boating season and is just what we all need to get us through the cold months of winter! Many boat shows are well attended by both boating enthusiasts and those planning to purchase a boat. Summerset Boat Lifts is here to help point out a few tips to keep in mind as you make your way to the upcoming boat shows.

Boat Show Tips

If you are in the market for a new boat, there are some things to keep in mind as you're making your way through the exhibits at this year's boat shows. Here are a few of our top tips:

Think About Financing - If you're serious about buying a boat, it's important that you have an idea of how you will pay for it. While some people may have the cash to buy a boat, most will need to get financing secured. You might want to consider getting a pre-approval before you attend any boat shows. By doing so, you'll better be able to set a budget for how much you can afford - and you won't be tempted to fall in love with a boat out of your price range.

Do Your Homework - Before stepping foot into the boat show, do some research. You want to have some idea of what you're looking for or you can get easily overwhelmed. Make a list of questions that you want to ask the dealers. Be sure to have a budget in mind before you start your search as well.

Talk with the Dealers - Rather than just checking out the exhibits yourself, be sure to talk with the dealers. Ask the list of questions you prepared ahead of time. Not only are you looking for the best values in boating, but you also want to make sure you're working with a reputable and knowledgeable dealer. Customer service is very important when it comes to such a big investment as a boat.

Check Out the Show Guide - Many boat shows will have a list of all their exhibitors and vendors available prior to the show. Take a look at those and make a list of who's booths you want to be sure to stop by. With so much going on at these events, you can easily get distracted and miss something you wanted to check out.

3 Tips for Making the Most of Your Boat Show Experience

For anyone that is serious about buying a boat, attending a boat show is a great place to start! Join Summerset Boat Lifts at the Overland Park Boat Show this weekend. See the latest in 2016 cruisers, runabouts, performance boats, tritoons, ski boats, personal watercraft, docks, lifts, and all boating accessories at KC's largest boat show. Use these tips to make the most of your boat show experience:

Photo Credit: Overland Park Boat Show Website
1. Don't Buy On Impulse.

Looking at all those shiny, new boats at a boat show can be exciting! The urge to buy the first one you see and love can be strong. Make sure that you don't make an "impulse buy" though. Be sure to do some research and make sure that you're getting the right boat for what you want to do with it. You'll want to make sure there's enough room for your family friends, or that it can pull a tube or skis if you want to do that. With such a large investment, you want to ensure you're making the right decision.

2. Know How Much You Can Afford.

Purchasing a boat is a big investment. It's important to know how much you'll be able to afford before jumping into a boat show. You don't want to find the "perfect boat" just to realize it's out of your price range. DiscoverBoating.com has a simple boat loan calculator that you can use to determine your loan amount based on how much you want to pay each month. Knowing how much you can afford before even stepping foot in the boat show will help you avoid getting your hopes up for a boat that you can't afford. There are a lot of different types of boats in all different price ranges, so you're sure to find the perfect option to fit your needs.

3. Shop Around.

Just because you like a boat and it fits within your price range, doesn't mean you should buy it. Be sure to shop around, check out all of your options. You may find something you like even better if you'll just spend sometime looking around and researching your various options. The best part about a boat show is having tons of boats in one place, allowing you to easily comparison shop. You can not only compare price, but also styles and features. Be sure to take notes, so you can sit down and weigh the pros and cons before making your final decision on which boat you want to purchase.

Once you've decided on a boat, you're going to need to take a look at docks, boat lifts and other accessories to accompany your new boat! The best boat lift dealer at the Lake of the Ozarks will be at the show, ready to answer all your boat lift questions. We can help you determine what boat lift and dock you'll need based on the boat you've chosen to purchase. We want to help make your new boat purchase experience the best it can be! We hope to see you at our booth at the Overland Park Boat Show, January 7-10!
