Faulty Boat Lifts
Just last weekend a boat lift on the Lake of the Ozarks broke, causing the boat sitting on it to sink. When the tow boat arrived, the boat was almost completely submerged in the Lake. Reportedly, one of the arms on the lift broke. Once it broke, the boat just slid right off the back of the lift and into the water. The dock was located on the main channel, which meant it was subject to some especially rough waters. Surprisingly, these incidents are quite common, with 4-5 other boats also suffering the consequences of this same situation so far this year.
In light of the incident, all dock owners are encouraged to have their boat lift checked out to make sure it is solid and functioning properly. The waters here at the Lake of the Ozarks can be rough, and will take their toll on your boat lift. Summerset Boat Lifts is here to help! No matter what type of lift, dock or boat you have, we can take a look and let you know if we see anything that could pose a threat to your investment.
